It's Pride Month! I thought I'd do an unboxing of Papergang's June Box which is Pride themed. Keep reading to find out who Papergang are, and the contents of this month's box.
Recent Book Buys | Book Haul
Recently, I've ordered way too many books from Waterstones, but will that stop me from ordering more? Absolutely not. Will that stop me from walking through the book aisle of the supermarket during a food shop and inevitably buying more books? Absolutely not. Before my list of recent buys gets too long, I thought I'd share some of the books I've bought over the last couple of weeks.
Diversifying my Bookshelves | TBR
My bookshelves are definitely dominated by cis-straight-white-men, and although I do have a collection of books by Authors of Colour, I don't have enough of them. Here are 10 books by Authors of Colour which are on my TBR.
Six Month Reading Wrap Up
We are officially halfway through the year - and it’s honestly so hard to believe that we’re six months in already, given the current circumstances. 2020 has undeniably been the craziest year of my life so far. My 2020 Goodreads Goal is 12 books (one per month) and I’m right on track at six books read so far. Here are the books I’ve read in the last six months.
Stuck at Home Book Tag
Although I wasn't nominated, I saw this tag over on 'The Bookish Chick' and I thought it would be fun to write my own 'Stuck at Home' bookish post. The tag was originally created by Ellyn from Allonsythornraxx, so be sure to check out their post too.
My Non-Fiction Book Collection
I used to always have my nose buried in non-fiction books when I was younger, but I've gravitated more to fiction the older I'm getting. Still, I'm trying to grow my non-fiction collection - but here's all the books in it so far.
‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ by Holly Jackson – Book Review
TW: mentions of murder, suicide, and potentially sensitive subject matter. I’ve always been a lover of Crime Fiction, and YA books have also always been a guilty pleasure of mine, so when I found out that there was a subcategory linking these two things, I was beyond excited. How had I not found out about YA Crime Thrillers sooner? It was once again Bookstagram that led me to this gem of a book - so here's what I thought on Holly Jackson's 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder'.
Animal Crossing New Horizons Book Tag
This post was inspired by Vicky (What Vicky Read). A book-related tag with Animal Crossing New Horizons-themed questions - perfect for those bookworms who have neglected all their books to play this game!
Write With Rupi | Rupi Kaur’s Instagram Writing Workshops
During Lockdown, poet Rupi Kaur has been hosting some Writing Workshops via Instagram live, and I've really enjoyed following along - so much so that I wanted to share a little information about what they are, and a couple of pieces I've created from them!
What’s on My TBR List?
This month I wanted to discuss the books that are up next from my TBR List! I'd love to know if you've read any of the books from my list; if you have, be sure to let me know.
